JOURNEY TO THE RED CENTRE: PART 1

A colorful graffiti covered doorway.

I had those butterflies in my stomach as Siu started Bea’s engine and we backed out of our driveway from what was our home for the past 12 months. Our time in Sydney had gone in a blink of an eye and was not without its ups and downs. Although we were relieved to be

EP21: OVERNIGHT HIKING AT MT JAGUNGAL

Our first overnight hike in Kosciuszko was a breeze, so we decided to take it up a notch and try a multiday hike through the cool sounding Jagungal Wilderness Area. There were no tears and no tantrums on this adventure, but a lot more of this stunning alpine area to see.

LIFE UPDATE – WE LEFT SYDNEY!

Sitting in the window munching on Blackstar Pastry’s signature Watermelon cake with a long black on hand, watching the weird and wonderful sight that is Newtown pass. As I selectively listen in on the nasally Sydneysider next to me banter about the previous night’s sexual escapade or the latest gossip in a circle of friends

FINDING JAPAN IN SYDNEY

Japan has to be one of my all time favourite destinations for its mixture of traditional Japanese  culture, history and ultra modernness. I knew we’d be back here. The alpine high country seems to call to us like a siren to come and explore it some more. On this occasion we headed back to hike through an area of Kosciuszko National Park that we had yet to explore, the Jagungal Wilderness Area. Even it’s name sounds ridiculously cool! And

EP19: MY 3 DAYS IN QUEENSLAND

These days it’s pretty rare for me to travel without Siu On, so this girls only trip up to Queensland was going to be challenging. Luckily for me, Grace was my belay partner for many years before Siu On came along and is used to my idiosyncrasies and habits. Though for only 3 days we

OUR FAVOURITE NEW SOUTH WALES SPOTS

When Siu On and I decided to stay in New South Wales, originally thought we’d stick around until we’d saved enough money to keep going around Australia, but close to two years later we’re still here. Not because we love the place, but because, well… life just gets in the way. Over those two years
